I always try and keep up with the new latest and greatest shrubs that are hitting the market, but since I no longer have a spring sale to grow plants for, I sorta sluffed off keeping current.
I'm adding some plants new to me - not neccessaruily new introductions
Buxus sempervirens 'Montpelier 1' and 'Montpelier2' - a couple dwarf selections coming from the gardens of President James Madisons Montpelier estate.
Juniperus communis 'Gold Totem Pole'
Symphoricarpos x doorenbosii 'Magic Berry'
Agastache 'Ava'
Elytrigia elongata 'Jose Select'
Pinus edulis 'Farmy'
Liquidambar styraciflua 'Slender Silhouette'
and I think I'm getting a new dwarf norway spruce that closely resembles a fir - Picea abies 'Motala'. I have my bid in on one if it actually gets shipped to a local nursery. They never know what they're getting until the delivery truck shows up

since I lost 500 square ft of gardening space with the new road improvements, I still have plants that need to be moved into permanent locations....I'm going to be putting more brugs in the ground....

several new Taxus varieties....if they root :D
excuse my lack of proper latin names cuz I dont remember but there's also many small trees to get in....buffalo berry, spruce, austrian pine, hackberry, shrub type willow & a new clematis. I would love to add an Abies concolor, I believe its called. they've become my favorite xmas tree.
Susu, you might want to check out the Austrian pine with your local extension service or forestry service for adaptability in your area. Around these parts they all are dying a slow death from something called diplotia - which causes the tips to dieback. Out at the arboretum, most of ours have been cut down and burned. A nice replacement is Bosnian Pine - Pinus heldreichii/pinus leucodermis. Both are the same plant but there has been a recent change in the species name. Looks a lot like an Austrian, but may grow a tab slower. Should be suited to your area. It will be harder to find and probably somewhat pricier when you do. You might want to go with some of the local pine cost wise.
This season is going to be less grass and more plants, more cannas, got some brugs seeds and mrs Keving got me a tree fern for xmas, cant wait to get that in, got loads of other stuff to plant.
I have a few new Japanese Morning Glories to tuck in somewhere but this is my last year for growing on 27 new Brugmansia seedlings from the premier Hybridizer in German, Monika Gottschalk so those will occupy my garden space for one more year.
