The Farmers Almanac prediction for the eastern mid-west called for warmer than normal and wetter than normal and I think that pretty well hit the nail on the head. We've had only a few snow times and max accumulations for any one was less than 5 inches. We've had sporadic low temps in the single digits, some in the teens, and quite a lot in the 20s or above. We've had a lot of rainfall and fortunately, always in the warm temp period. I can think of only a few icy mornings although a light snow seems to create havoc for the drivers around here and there's always a rash of accidents on the slightly snowy AM commutes - according to the media anyway as I don't participate in those.
So all in all - winter weather hasn't been too hateful here in southwestern Ohio.
I hope you keep it that way for the rest of this winter. We have had pretty good weather here except for the one night it got to 28 but we had things covered but our sprinkler system came on when they were supposed to have it shut off and it soaked the sheets we had on the low plants and they froze, the trees came through OK. They said frost last night for Lake Co. but it didn't happen it clouded over and no wind we had 45 this morning at 7:00. Most things come back from the roots. Bob
Tough it out down there and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you LOL.
We are in the midst of a snow shower and have maybe 5 inches on the ground. But the Intellicast radar sorta indicates it's about over. The CB oughta have fun running her new snow blower when she gets home from work. I tried but it's more than I can handle on one foot and that scooter I use. Maybe another month and I'll have both feet on the ground - Hopefully.
I'm waiting on a ride to take me out to the arboretum for a meeting they insisted I attended. I told them if it's that important - come and get me and they agreed.

this was supposed to be a La Nina year. for here that means drier than normal & warmer than normal. guess no one told Ms La Nina she was supposed to spend the winter here with our above average snow & average to a bit below temps. WalMart was still shoveling the snow off its roof a week ago(after 1.5 weeks of no new snow)& our roof is still shedding icebergs...one just crashed as I type. river run off season is gonna last well into summer, me thinks :D
Also warmer amd wetter than normal here ; lots of 6" snow falls that disappear within a week ; freezing rain ; and rain . I have had to utilize the 4x4 on numerous occasions this winter .
It was -1F here this morning - our coldest yet, and now we have some light snow looking to be followed up with freezing rain through the night. But if that's the case, things need to warm up a tad because it's only 19F right now
We got 3-4 inches out of that and it looks like the worst is over for now. Freezing rain is still predicted, but it's not showing up on the radar right now.
The most snow we have gotten at any one time is about 4 inches. Most of it has been less than that. Haven't had to use the big snowblower yet. Haveing 2 cars with 4 wheel drive makes it a little easier getting out and about in the winter.
We have had a lot of rain down here this year between an inch to three inches at a time about once a week considering this to be the dry season here. right now it is raining and it looks like it will be most of the night, our park turns the irrigation system on in the winter about once every ten or twelve days as the grass doesn't need it as much but if we get an inch or more it doesn't come on. most of the snow we got 10 days ago is gone....we had a couple of 50Fdays...have some snowdrops and crocus up and just need a bit more warmth to get them to really open up
GTO missed the big 10" snow we received 8 days ago so apparently his area is clear of snow while ours is still slowly melting keeping our daytime temps a bit cooler than his area . There is a lot of standing water and saturated ground now , probably some of the wettest conditions I have seen in a while .
